Last October Redskins backup TE had some interesting comments regarding Cowboys QB Tony Romo.
After a horrendous Cowboys loss to the Lions, an unprovoked Cooley thought “it was hilarious to watch [Romo] throw pick-sixes, too, back to back. I loved it.” Cooley went on to say it was “amazing, amazing to watch him choke like that.”
Listen, I understand everyone is entitled to their opinion. I understand everyone can say what they want. However, when you choose to do that, you open yourself up to criticism.
Never mind Cooley, at the time of the comment, was a back up on a 5-11 team. Never mind Cooley and his Redskins lost to Romo and the Cowboys twice during the regular season.
To top it all off, if you haven’t heard, Chris Cooley was released by the Redskins earlier this week. What’s worse is he is so irrelevant, you probably didn’t hear about it. The only way this guy can make the news is to post risqué photos of himself or to take shots at a guy who is clearly out of his league. He certainly couldn’t make headlines on the football field.
Romo is far too classy to rub any of this in Cooley’s face. But we all know who has the last laugh.
We all should be careful of the words we say. We never know when the proverbial crow will be served up.
