Have you ever come across those companies that do something that isn’t quite the ‘coolest’ thing in the world.  You know, the companies like Beano. Companies like this have two choices when it comes to marketing. They can try and down play the actual purpose of the product or embrace it with humor.

On Friday, I was driving home from work and I came across another one of these companies. I was running low on gas so I exited off  HWY 59 to an Exxon Mobil station. While I was filling up the tank, I looked around the lot and saw a vacuum service truck also known as a septic pumper truck.  If you’re not familiar with a septic pumper truck their basic task is to drive to various spots and pump waste out of septic tanks. If you’re not getting the hint, they pump poop and pee. Pretty gross huh?

Again, this company has two choices when it comes to marketing: 1) beat around the bush and try to hide what they actually do, or 2) own it. Well let me tell you that Aaron Enterprise Septic owned it. In the picture below read what it says on the tank above the phone number.

#1 in the #2 Biz

That’s right, it says: “#1 in the #2 Biz”. When I saw this I couldn’t stop laughing. Good for you Aaron Enterprise Septic. You own it.

If you know me at all, you know that I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Sometimes while watching the games I can get a little crazy. One of the best things ever invented is what’s called the ‘ball call brick’. It’s a styrofoam brick with the Cowboys logo on it. It’s a simple concept; when I get upset at a ball call, play or just frustrated in general, I can throw it at the TV without causing any damage. Brilliant.

Tonight, I let my dog Sawyer in the house and she ran into the office where I keep the ball call brick. She grabbed it without me noticing and ran into the living room while I was paying a bill in the office. As I came out into the living room, I looked and saw Sawyer chewing up my brick.

Bad call Sawyer, bad call.
